We've made changes to the Workspace Client Gallery setting "Viewers must register" after some great feedback in our Facebook group, The Insider. Until now if you turned on the "Viewers must register" gallery setting, visitors had to create an "account" before they could view a gallery. The setting was optional, and its purpose was to track who was viewing your galleries and to collect their email addresses. This change will make it easier for people to get access while still allowing you to collect those addresses. Here's what we have done We've replaced the original setting with "Require Email To View More >>

We're so grateful to our Workspace Print Shop early adopters. We've enjoyed helping you launch your Print Shops, and we love seeing your print, frame and canvas sales coming through! One thing you've told us is that you'd really like your customers to have a better visual experience when selecting their product options in the Print Shop shopping cart — which leads us to this update. The new Product Preview feature will show your customers the correct cropping of an image for the To View More >>

It's time to celebrate with Studio Samples! Last Friday we launched one of the  biggest updates  in years to our album pricing — and we loved the response to our "unbundling". So to celebrate here's the first of two special offers… Many of you used the lockdown period to rejig your business plans and market offering, which meant — surprise! — lots of requests for another sample sale. We had to hold off while we worked through the repricing, but with that behind us we can go ahead.  All samples — including albums, books, boxes, To View More >>

Following the opening of The Papatuanuku Series we spoke to Tessa Williams from Moemoea Collective about the idea behind the work, and the launch itself. "Man, it really was just the most incredible evening! The atmosphere was on fire, with everyone who attended blown away, not only by the photos but the launch itself. I knew that the majority of the 150 who attended had never had the pleasure of going to an art launch, so I did everything I could to ensure they had the same experience as a regular gallery-goer, in the hopes to start them on their own art journey." "Young working families are usually To View More >>

Here's what people like most about Workspace: When they make a sale there's nothing to do. No need to liaise with the buyer, collect the money, order the product or deliver it. All you have to do is read our notification email. :) People quite like the 10th of the month too, when they get another email to say the money has hit their Paypal account. But occasionally money gets returned to us because someone hasn't "accepted" the payment. If you don't claim your money you'll get an email from Paypal like the one in the graphic below. Normally all you have to do is click the "Claim Your Money Now" To View More >>

Johannes posted a quote from The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams on his blog. It's about what it takes, what it means, to be real. Are you in fashion photography or reality photography? Cheers, Ian PS Surprise surprise, that's a question, not an opinion. PPS Jo and Johannes (not sure which) took the picture. And that's our grand-daughter with Lucy :) To View More >>

Pete started off his recent posts by saying that colour management is one of the cornerstones of digital photography, but often misunderstood. Let me describe what you can reasonably expect from a sound colour management system consistently applied (certainly not miracles!). What you can expect 1. A reasonable indication of what your final print will look like (assuming you're sending the files print-ready). 2. To avoid gross errors (an Adobe 1998 file treated as if it's sRGB will look strikingly different, especially if colours go out of gamut). 3. Predictability: You can send your files to the To View More >>

No-one likes piracy, so how can you stop people stealing your digital images? There is only one sure method: Store your data on a computer in a secure office - and don't connect it to the internet. I'm not kidding. I was speaking to a commercial lawyer friend who deals with multi-million dollar litigation, and if his stuff is super-confidential, that's exactly what he does. Recently we had an irate client complain that some of her images had been pirated from Workspace, and ask how we could let that happen. She explained how it was done (I'm not going to tell you) and she was quite right. Within To View More >>

There's a cool vibe to our webinars, for us anyway. It's generally early morning here, so we're just kick-starting the coffee machine (the Aussies have it even worse - sorry guys), while on the other side of the world the Brits are feet up with a beer, or sipping cocoa in their jammies. In North America it's the middle of the day, so maybe sitting down with us is a chance to take it easy too. How much do you need to charge? Click here to watch it full screen on our vimeo channel. We were a little nervous about this one because it's new content, we only had an hour to talk about a subject we could To View More >>
